Web Design

Web design encompasses everything you see on a website. From the way the page is laid out, to the graphic and the way you navigate the site. All are the job of the web designer.

The web designer must make all these features render correctly on different size displays, various browser applications and different devices, from cell phones to televisions. TIMR’s design team can meet that challenge!

Web Development

At TIMR, web development is a continuing process for developing an effective ‘online’ strategy for our clients. If a website is all you think of when you hear the term ‘web development’, you are missing out on a wide variety services and opportunities that could save you money or bring in more business. TIMR will work with you to explain the latest developments on the Internet and how they could impact on your business.

Creating a Web Strategy

Needs Analysis

Whether developing a business website or a personal website, the first thing that needs to be done is to decide what the site is about. A personal website may be private, for friends and family, or a blog that welcomes everyone. For business websites, possibilities range from an online store to a private site for clients only.

To help businesses access their online needs, TIMR has developed a Needs Analysis Worksheet that you can download or view on line (requires pdf viewer such as Adobe Acrobat). It will guide you in analyzing your present position and future needs.

Analysis : Business and Community Service Sites

Analysis for a business web or community service site should be part of an overall ‘online strategy’ that fits your present and future goals. Our Needs Analysis Worksheet can guide you in looking at your website needs. However, analyzing the need for a fully integrated ‘online strategy’ should include other online services such as ‘opt in’ e-mail newsletters, instant messaging, and even VOIP. It should also look at third party services such as

  • eBay - an effective way to sell old stock
  • PayPal - payments or donations at a reasonable fee
  • Google maps - show clients how to reach you
  • Google calendars - a private or public calendar of appointments or events

Planning : Business and Community Service Sites

Planning for a business website is much more complicated. Our Needs Analysis Worksheet will provide you with some ideas in planning for your site. However, it will does not cover all the unique elements specific to your business or service.

Now is the time to do your initial free consultation with TIMR. We will go over the results of the worksheet and other aspects of your business plan. From this information, we will produce a draft proposal. Should you accept this proposal, we will work with you to draft a more detailed plan for your website and develop an overall ‘online strategy’.
