Local Internet Marketing
"Think Global - Act Local" Still Applies
Marketing your business online is a form of direct marketing. With a few exceptions, setting up your online marketing campaign requires the same basic steps as any other direct marketing campaign.
You need to determine your target market. The main difference between internet marketing and other forms of direct marketing is the scope of the audience. Even though online marketing has the potential of a world wide audience, you still need to determine a specific market and focus - focus - focus.
The typical target market is a large population center surrounded by smaller bedroom communities. Targeting these areas requires that you be in Google and Yahoo's local search. Search engines, particularly Google, geo target their search results based on the location of the person doing the search. Getting listed in the local search will help get your message to your local market.
